Second Deuce Game Point

Second Deuce Game Point scoring is a variation of No Ad scoring….it’s just not quite as intense as No Ad.

It goes like this:

If the serving team takes the game score to 40-40 or deuce...the server will call out the score as “40 all -  first deuce”,  the point will be played, the serving team will either win the point or lose it.

If for example the serving team won the point the server would now call out the score as “Ad In”. The point will be served from the Ad side.  The point will be played, if the serving team wins this point, the game is over.   But if the serving team loses the point, the score now goes back to deuce or in this case Second Deuce.  This point now becomes the game point.  The receiving team gets to decide who will receive the serve. It is always "receiver's choice" on a Second Deuce point.  Which ever team wins this point wins the game.

If for example the serving team loses the point the server would now call out the score as “Ad Out”. The  point will be served from the Ad side.  The point will be played, if the serving team loses this point, the game is over.   But if the serving team wins the point, the score now goes back to deuce or in this case Second Deuce.  This point now becomes the game point.  The receiving team gets to decide who will receive the serve. It is always "receiver's choice" on a Second Deuce point.  Whichever team wins this point wins the game.

With this type of scoring, as with every match actually, it is VERY IMPORTANT to always call out the score every point. It is important that 30-30 points are not stated as deuce or 30 deuce.  They should be called 30-30 or 30-all.
